Killian Hill bases the training of the student on the biblical mandates Colossians 4:6,  “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man,” and Ephesians 6:19-20, “…that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.”  Controlling the fear of public speaking, delivering a speech professionally and confidently, identifying and eliminating distracting mannerisms while speaking, and gaining discernment in evaluating strong and weak public speaking through performance and critique are skills that will be carried throughout the individual student’s career and lifetime ministry.

Killian Hill Christian School has recognized the importance of communicating confidently and effectively by introducing the elementary, junior high, and senior high students to different approaches of oral interpretation, acting, musical theatre, and dramatic production through competition and the stage.  Killian Hill is a member of the American Association of Christian Schools competition, which rigorously challenges the students through interpretation, public speaking, acting, and debate competitions, training students from the fourth through twelfth grades in public speaking.

The school also offers participation in Broadway-style musical theatre, which over the years has produced shows such as Peter Pan, The Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie Get Your Gun, The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, The Wizard of Oz, and My Fair Lady.  Also, Pride & Prejudice, A Christmas Carol, Mary Poppins the Musical, The Matchmaker, Going Home, and various stage plays have delighted audiences for decades.
