Killian Hill Debate Team Wins

Killian Hill Team Wins the "HENRY W. GRADY QUEST FOR THE DREAM"
Debate Tournament

Saturday evening, January 14, Tammy VuPham and Almaz Semere won the novice policy debate tournament hosted by Grady High School.  Out of sixteen Atlanta public and private schools participating, Killian Hill demonstrated consistent and technical argumentative skill Friday evening and throughout the day on Saturday, advancing to the semi-finals with a 3-0 decision Saturday evening.  Late Saturday night they won the final round with a 2-1 vote.  Out of thirty-two speakers, our team members were ranked as follows in speaker points: Almaz Semere (7th), Estera Maxim (8th) Tammy VuPham (9th), and Morgan Mullins (13th).  The national resolve for the debate was as follows:  "The United States federal government should substantially increase its exploration and/or development of space beyond the Earth's mesosphere."  Congratulations to the entire team for a job well done!
