Our Mission Statement
Killian Hill Christian School, as a ministry of Killian Hill Baptist Church, exists to assist parents in their God-given responsibility of educating their young people by providing a highly qualified spiritual and academic program, enhanced by balanced fine arts and athletics, while encouraging them to live disciplined Christ-centered lives.
Our Philosophy
Home Relations - We teach that authority for such an education comes from God's commands that children be taught to love God and to place Him first in their lives. We believe that parents - particularly fathers - are responsible for the total education and training of their children. Upon their request, the ministry of Killian Hill Baptist Church and Christian School assists in giving this training. (Gal 4:2; Mal 4:6; Deut 6)
Christian Character Training - We teach that the entire process of education is an instrument used by the Holy Spirit to evangelize, to edify and to equip the student to fulfull God's total purpose for his life, personally and vocationally. (Eph. 6:13; 2 Tim. 3:17)
Student Self-Discipline - We teach that Biblically principled education should manifest man's sin nature and thereby expose the need for self-discipline for the whole man spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. (1 Cor. 11:31)
Academics - We teach that academic success is a worthy goal, and will be proportionally the result of the practice and application of the preceeding three principles. (1 Cor. 10:31; Eccl 9:10, Phil 3:12-14)
Extracurricular Activities - We believe that the academic program can be enhanced by the inclusion of a balanced amount of athletics and fine arts activities. (Phil 4:11-13; Psalms 27:6; 1 Peter 4:11)
Our philosophy necessitates that the first three priorities be maintained in order that the goal of personal and academic success be achievable. To that end, we encourage parents to be fully involved in the education of their children.
